Furst Ranch: A Big New Community in Flower Mound and Argyle

The short answer: Furst Ranch is a large new master-planned community at US-377 and Cross Timbers Road (FM 1171) that spans parts of Flower Mound, Bartonville and Argyle in Denton County. It is in Argyle ISD, it has an unusually deep bench of nine builders, and its prices run from the mid-$500s into the $1 million range. It is not Fort Worth, and I could not confirm the HOA or tax rate from public pages, so those are questions to ask before you fall for a model home.

What follows comes from the community's builder page, builder community pages and local reporting I read in September 2026. Builders change pricing constantly, so confirm before you act. This is general information, not financial advice.

Furst Ranch at a glance

  • Location. According to the Town of Flower Mound, the site spans Flower Mound, Bartonville and Argyle at US-377 and Cross Timbers Road (FM 1171). Builder sales offices use both Flower Mound and Argyle addresses. I did not find a verified drive time to Fort Worth, so test it yourself.

  • School district. Argyle ISD. A 2026 Shaddock Homes page lists Argyle South Elementary, Argyle Middle and Argyle High, and Coventry Homes says land is reserved for future schools. Confirm assignment by address.

  • Developer. A 2024 announcement from Hines named Hines, Trez Capital and the Furst family. The community's own site describes a related entity a little differently, so it is worth confirming who the current developer is.

  • Builders. The community's builder page lists Ashton Woods, Coventry Homes, David Weekley Homes, Drees Custom Homes, Highland Homes, Partners in Building, Shaddock Homes, Toll Brothers and Tradition Homes.

  • Lot sizes. 50-, 60-, 70- and 80-foot lots on the builder page. A 2024 local report described a first section with 50- to 80-foot lots and larger half-acre and one-to-two-acre lots planned in other sections.

  • Prices. The builder page lists starting prices from the mid-$500s (Coventry) to the $600s (Ashton Woods, David Weekley), high $700s (Highland), $700s (Shaddock), high $800s (Drees), low $900s (Toll Brothers), $1.1 million and up (Tradition Homes) and $1.2 million (Partners in Building). That page is undated. Coventry shows a plan from $598,990, and Shaddock shows plans from about $769,000 to $908,000.

  • Amenities. Builders describe a 97-acre Central Park and a 20-acre Community Activities Center, along with trails, lakes and planned retail and dining.

  • HOA, PID or MUD, and tax rate. I could not find these on any public page I read. Ask each builder for them in writing.

What is nearby

The Dallas Morning News reported in July 2025 that H-E-B bought a 23-acre site at US-377 and FM 1171, near the community. No opening date had been set in that report, so do not plan around it.

Who Furst Ranch tends to fit

  • Buyers who want Argyle ISD in a brand-new community and have a budget in the upper $500s and above.

  • Buyers who want a lot of builder variety in one place, from a $500s plan to a custom-level build.

  • Buyers who are comfortable with a long buildout, since the town's zoning describes a plan that runs for decades.

Tradeoffs to think through

  • The unknowns. No public HOA or tax figure means you have to ask before you compare it with communities that publish them, like Pecan Square and Walsh.

  • Construction for years. Model homes are open now, but the plan calls for a very long buildout.

  • Prices vary widely. A $500s plan and a $1 million plan can be in the same community, so compare the same lot size across builders.

  • It is a suburb. Flower Mound and Argyle are Denton County towns, with their own taxes and services.

How Furst Ranch compares

Furst Ranch is a neighbor to Canyon Falls and sits in the same Argyle and Flower Mound orbit as Hillwood's communities. For the surrounding towns, see my Flower Mound and Argyle and Northlake guides. The full comparison lays out the others.

My take

Furst Ranch is one to watch, not one to rush. The builder variety is a real plus, but a community this new means amenities and retail that are still on paper. I would want the HOA, the tax rate and the builder's construction timeline in writing before I got attached to a floor plan.

Before you buy new construction here

  • Bring your own agent on your first visit. The sales representative works for the builder. See my new construction guide.

  • Ask each builder for the HOA, any special district assessments and the current tax rate in writing.

  • Confirm school assignment for your exact address with Argyle ISD.

  • Read the builder's contract and warranty, and consider an attorney review.

  • Get an independent inspection during construction and before closing.
